Mariel has a range of experience in commercial and civil litigation matters including corporate insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, shareholder disputes, landlord and tenant disputes, probate and estate administration and employment disputes. She has appeared in and/or assisted in proceedings in the State Courts, High Court and Appellate Division of the High Court. She also has experience in mediation and in contract drafting.

Matters in which Mariel has assisted with include:

• Acting for Private Trustees in Bankruptcy with respect to clawback actions under the Bankruptcy Act 
• Acting for an institutional creditor in resisting the debtor company’s application for a moratorium under section 64 of the IRDA
• Acting for a landlord in a tenancy dispute involving delivery of vacant property and enforcement of a judgment sum 
• Acting for a senior employee in negotiating a settlement with the institutional employer in an employment dispute 
• Acting for a shareholder of a chain of Singapore restaurants in a shareholder dispute
